Anybus Communicator general:
Connect your serial device to any major fieldbus or industrial Ethernet networks with the Anybus Communicator. The Communicator performs an intelligent conversion between the serial protocol and the selected industrial network.
For industrial devices with a serial RS-232/485 interface, HMS makes it possible to convert almost any Produce / Consume, Request / Response or simple ASCII protocol with its flexible frame method into the supplied "Anybus Configuration Manager" software .
The Communicator handles the serial protocol without the need for extensive PLC function blocks. This compact gateway consumes little space in a control cabinet and is easy to mount on a standard DIN rail. With its configurable RS-232/485, it is possible to connect multiple devices using a Communicator.
With the new generation of ABC communicator, it is no longer necessary to purchase different gateways to carry out your conversion from RS-232/485 (master) to Ethernet-IP, Modbus-TCP or Profinet. The gateway can be loaded with the correct firmware to perform the necessary conversion to these three protocols.
